In the safety protection system of moving walkways, real-time monitoring and regular maintenance are not independent links, but a dynamic and efficient protection force is built through precise data sharing and process coordination mechanisms.
As the "sensing center" of equipment operation, the real-time monitoring system continuously collects key parameters such as pedal wear, handrail tension, and motor temperature. After preliminary processing by edge computing, these data are transmitted to the central management platform via standardized protocols. The system can not only provide instant warnings for abnormal conditions, but also build a healthy evolution model for each component of the equipment through in-depth analysis of historical data. For example, by long-term tracking of the pedal wear rate, the system can predict its remaining service life; based on the changing trend of the motor vibration spectrum, the risk of bearing failure can be predicted. These predictive data provide an accurate decision-making basis for maintenance work, transforming the maintenance plan from traditional "scheduled maintenance" to "condition-oriented maintenance".
Regular maintenance is guided by monitoring data to achieve dynamic adjustment of maintenance strategies. When the monitoring system detects that the wear rate of a component is abnormally high, the maintenance management system will automatically trigger an expedited maintenance process, shorten the maintenance cycle of the component, and prompt maintenance personnel to focus on checking related components. On the contrary, for non-critical components with stable operating status and data fluctuations within the normal range, the system can appropriately extend the maintenance interval to avoid waste of resources caused by excessive maintenance. This dynamic adjustment mechanism not only ensures the reliability of key safety components, but also improves the economy and efficiency of maintenance work. For example, during peak passenger flow, the frequency of use of the pedals and handrails of the moving walkway surges. The monitoring system can sense the load changes in real time and automatically increase the maintenance priority of related components to ensure the safety of the equipment under high-load operation.
Maintenance personnel can retrieve the equipment status data, warning information and historical trend analysis reports of the monitoring system in real time through mobile terminals or management terminals. They can understand the equipment status before going to the site for maintenance, prepare the appropriate tools and parts in advance, and reduce the time for on-site troubleshooting. At the same time, the actual problems and solutions found during the maintenance process will be fed back to the monitoring system database to further optimize the equipment health model and warning threshold.
Process collaboration runs through the entire life cycle of operation and maintenance work. The warning information of the monitoring system can automatically generate maintenance work orders and assign them to the corresponding maintenance team according to the fault level and urgency. After the maintenance personnel complete the work, they upload the maintenance records and test data through the system. The monitoring system will update the equipment status and verify the maintenance effect accordingly. If the problem is not completely solved, the system will automatically upgrade the processing flow and notify the technical experts to intervene. In addition, the coordination of monitoring and maintenance is also reflected in the linkage of emergency plans. When a serious equipment failure occurs suddenly, the monitoring system immediately triggers emergency braking and evacuates pedestrians, and pushes detailed fault information to the maintenance team to ensure efficient rescue and repair work.
Real-time monitoring and regular maintenance of moving walkways form a virtuous cycle of "monitoring - analysis - maintenance - optimization" through data sharing and process collaboration. This collaborative protection mechanism improves the safety and reliability of equipment operation, realizes the intelligent allocation of operation and maintenance resources, and provides strong technical support for the continuous and stable operation of moving walkways in complex use environments.
