Small passenger elevators
- Special devices
Emergency lighting system: When the elevator encounters a power outage or other emergency situation that causes normal lighting to be interrupted, the emergency lighting system will automatically start. Generally, batteries are used as backup power sources, which can continuously provide lighting for a certain period of time to ensure that there is enough light in the car to prevent passengers from panicking due to darkness, and to facilitate passengers to see the situation in the car as well as emergency rescue signs and operating instructions.
Emergency alarm device: Mostly in the form of an intercom or emergency call button, connected to the elevator monitoring center or property duty room. After pressing the button, the passenger can get in touch with the outside world and report the situation in the elevator in time, such as physical discomfort, elevator failure, etc., so that rescue personnel can quickly understand the situation and formulate a rescue plan.
Ventilation system: Even in an emergency situation where the elevator stops running, the ventilation system can continue to work to ensure air circulation in the car, maintain a suitable air environment, prevent passengers from feeling uncomfortable due to lack of oxygen or poor air circulation, and reduce passenger anxiety.
Automatic leveling device: Some advanced small passenger elevators are equipped with this device. When the elevator stops running due to a fault, if the car is not at the leveling position, the automatic leveling device can drive the elevator to run at a low speed to the nearest leveling position under system detection and control, so that passengers can safely get out of the elevator.
- Rescue plan
On-site manual rescue: If the elevator fault causes people to be trapped, the rescuers will rush to the scene first. Communicate with the passengers in the car through the emergency alarm device to stabilize the passengers' emotions. After confirming the position of the car, if the car is close to the leveling position (usually within ±0.5 meters), the rescuers can use the triangular key to open the hall door and car door of the corresponding floor to rescue the passengers. If the car position does not meet the conditions for direct door opening, go to the machine room. After turning off the main power supply of the elevator in the machine room (retaining the lighting power supply), determine the position of the car according to the leveling mark, install the manual wheel, and two people hold the wheel, and one person slowly releases the brake with a brake release wrench to make the elevator car slowly move to the leveling position, and then use the triangular key to open the door to rescue the passengers.
Remote monitoring and guided rescue: The elevator monitoring system monitors the elevator operation status in real time. Once a fault is detected, the information will be immediately transmitted to the monitoring center. Monitoring personnel can observe the situation of passengers through the camera in the car, communicate with passengers through the emergency alarm device, and provide elevator fault information and technical guidance to on-site rescue personnel to improve rescue efficiency.
Freight passenger elevator
- Special device
Heavy-load buffer device: Considering that the freight passenger elevator may carry heavy goods, a heavy-load buffer device is installed in the pit. When the elevator falls out of control due to a fault, the device can effectively absorb and buffer the impact force, reduce the damage to the car and the people and goods inside. Its buffering capacity is stronger than that of the buffer device of an ordinary passenger elevator, and can adapt to larger loads and impacts.
Emergency call amplification device: Since the space of the freight elevator car may be large, in order to ensure that people at each position in the car can communicate clearly with the outside world, an emergency call amplification device is equipped to ensure clear sound and no dead angle transmission, so that rescue personnel can communicate smoothly with the trapped people in the car.
Enhanced ventilation equipment: When a freight elevator is carrying goods, the air problem may be more prominent due to the nature of the goods or the closed space. Therefore, its ventilation equipment is usually more powerful and has a stronger ventilation volume to ensure that in an emergency, the air in the car can circulate fully and meet the air quality requirements of personnel and cargo.
Cargo fixing and anti-falling device: In an emergency, in order to prevent the movement and fall of cargo and cause secondary injuries to personnel, cargo fixing devices such as adjustable binding belts and fixing frames are installed in the car. At the same time, special anti-falling baffles or mesh covers are installed on the top and sides of the car to restrain the cargo.
- Rescue plan
Use of heavy-load rescue equipment: Because cargo passenger elevators may carry heavy cargo, special heavy-load rescue equipment is required for rescue. For example, it is equipped with a more powerful manual winch device and a more sturdy brake release tool to cope with the rescue operation of the elevator under heavy load. If the cargo in the car blocks the rescue channel or affects the rescue operation, the rescue personnel need to properly fix or transfer the cargo before implementing the rescue operation on the premise of ensuring safety.
Multi-department collaborative rescue: Rescue operations often require the cooperation of multiple departments. In addition to elevator maintenance personnel, property management personnel, personnel from the unit to which the cargo belongs, etc. may also be required to participate. The property management staff is responsible for maintaining order on site and coordinating with other relevant departments; the personnel of the unit to which the goods belong assist in handling goods-related issues, such as providing goods information, assisting in handling goods, etc., to jointly ensure the smooth progress of the rescue work.
Capsule passenger elevator
- Special device
Panoramic emergency lighting and indication system: Capsule passenger elevators usually adopt a unique appearance design. Its emergency lighting system not only provides basic lighting, but also uses the special material or internal design of the capsule shell to achieve a panoramic lighting effect, so that passengers can clearly see the surrounding environment and evacuation signs in an emergency. The evacuation signs use special luminous materials or projection technology, which can be displayed prominently under any lighting conditions, guiding passengers to quickly find a safe exit.
Wireless emergency communication module: Different from traditional wired communication methods, capsule passenger elevators are equipped with wireless emergency communication modules, which can establish contact with the outside world through mobile networks or dedicated wireless communication frequency bands. This method is not affected by the complex wiring and line failures in the elevator shaft. Even if the communication line in the elevator shaft is damaged, it can ensure smooth communication between passengers and rescuers, and at the same time facilitate rescuers to more accurately locate the elevator position and understand the situation in the car.
Independent emergency power supply: Capsule passenger elevators are generally equipped with an independent emergency power supply system, which is small in size and high in energy density, and is specially used to power the emergency rescue devices of the elevator. When the main power supply fails, it can quickly switch and continuously provide stable power for emergency lighting, ventilation, communication and other equipment to ensure the normal operation of various devices during emergency rescue. The power supply time is usually longer than that of ordinary passenger elevators to meet the needs of complex rescue scenarios that may arise.
Airbag-type buffer and protection device: Based on its unique appearance and operating characteristics, some capsule passenger elevators are equipped with airbag-type buffer and protection devices at the bottom and sides of the car. When the elevator falls or collides unexpectedly, the sensor will quickly trigger the airbag to inflate, forming a soft buffer layer between the car and the shaft wall or the ground, effectively reducing the impact force and protecting the safety of passengers. At the same time, it can also prevent the car from rolling over and other dangerous situations in an emergency.

Intelligent positioning and rapid response: The capsule passenger elevator has a built-in advanced intelligent positioning system and is connected to the city's emergency rescue network. Once an emergency occurs, the system can transmit the precise location information of the elevator to the rescue command center at the first time, and rescue personnel can quickly arrive at the scene based on the positioning. At the same time, using the wireless emergency communication module, rescuers can communicate with passengers in the car on the way to the scene, understand the situation and provide preliminary guidance, so as to achieve rapid response and rescue.
Customized rescue operation: Due to the particularity of the structure and operation mode of capsule passenger elevators, rescuers need to undergo special training and master customized rescue operation procedures. For example, when opening the car door, special unlocking tools and operating methods may be required to adapt to its unique door system design. During the rescue process, make full use of the airbag-type buffer and protection device, and stabilize and move the car on the premise of ensuring safety to avoid secondary injuries to passengers.
Different types of passenger elevators are equipped with corresponding special devices and targeted rescue plans for emergency rescue, aiming to maximize the safety of passengers' lives and smooth rescue in emergency situations. With the continuous advancement of science and technology, elevator emergency rescue technology will continue to develop and improve.
